The late, great Jim Rohn said, "Attitude is Everything".
“Change begins within ourselves”.
How often have we heard THAT?
We all have tremendous potential and seek great results from our efforts. What’s more, most of us are willing to work hard and to pay the price that success and happiness demand.
The one thing that determines our success in life and business …is our attitude.
Attitude determines how much of the future we allow ourselves to see and achieve. It decides the size of our dreams, our commitment to achieve them and influences our determination to overcome obstacles. It determines how we respond to new challenges.
We all have control of our attitude. No-one else controls it.
Unless we let them.
Unless we let them.
Yes, of course, other people can teach us poor habits, mislead us, mis-inform us and provide us with negative influence…but no one can control our attitude unless we voluntarily surrender that control.
No one else "makes us angry." We make ourselves angry when we choose to surrender control of our attitude. The other person’s words or actions are irrelevant.
We choose, not they.
The next time you feel someone is “making you angry”, consider that they’re merely putting your attitude to a test. If you choose an angry attitude, then you must acknowledge that you’ve failed that particular test.
It’s just the same in Business…
What parts of your BUSINESS are you allowing someone else to control?
What parts of your Business are you currently CHOOSING to let under-perform?
What parts of your Business are you currently CHOOSING to let under-perform?
…Because of a weakness in your attitude?
Accept full responsibility for your own attitude. Protect yourself from feelings that lead you down the wrong path – and embrace those that lead you forward down the right one.
Attitude is an asset, a treasure of great value. That’s why there are so many “attitude thieves” on the look out to take it from you (how many people recently have been urging you to agree how “bad” business conditions are at the moment?). How many of those same people are hiding behind the current state of affairs, because it’s the easy way out?
It’s a fact - having the right attitude is one of the basic requirements of success.
To help you build a fortress for your attitude, take the next few minutes to make a list of 5 aspects of your own attitude that need improving. For example, have you been tempted to set lower targets for your business, simply because of negative media coverage about somebody else’s?
Whatever they are, come up with 5 things to improve – and then list the top 3 ways to improve each one!
Be Remarkable!
